for Nova Development

One of the fastest growing software firms in Los Angeles needed rapid expansion and required access to conferencing spaces which had been absorbed by people space.  J S D A joined the disconnected spaces and made the space part of the Nova brand. The essence of the company's product is computer based art in dynamic shapes, bright colors and varying graphic styles. Employee retention was a critical issue for this high tech company demanding highly skilled workers.  The space not only needed to look good, it needed dedicated fun space to enhance creativity.  

Productivity Increases
for Clopton Penny & Brenner

A rapidly growing law firm required relocation to accommodate the growth they had experienced in recent years.  The firm had been living in cramped conditions without the functional benefit of an organized plan to access legal files.  With the speed of technology increasing, and the size of client files small, the time required to access files was a great concern to the operation of the firm and its ability to quickly service its clients.

Re-imaging the Firm
for Berger, Kahn

Entertainment law firm Berger Kahn wanted
to refresh its workspace to reflect it's cutting edge clients
and appreciation for the arts. Initially during site review, a number of  museum pieces were found in a storage room.  This cardboard furniture designed by Frank Gehry, became central to the re-imaging of the reception area.  Without major construction the design transformed the preexisting space..

Alternative Officing Solutions
for Internal and External Communication

This multimedia firm creates on-line education and training for Fortune 500 companies which have large scale customer service departments.  Their business success was being held at bay by fragmented office spaces which had been grown through past business expansions.  In order to accommodate the project growth, alternative officing strategies were studied for certain departments. JSDA's speed of delivery on this project was critical.

Asset Retention
for Verizon
Located on a campus environment in two industrial buildings, Verizon sought to more fully utilize the 120,000 square feet.  J S D A Inc. master planned and surveyed the buildings.  Verizon needed to reclaim administrative space from manufacturing space and reorganize exiting access from an existing mezzanine. Asset reuse from other facilities was important.  Inventories were not complete, however, J S D A designed universal workstation standards and electrical/cabling to receive the unknown inventory.  Natural daylighting and environmentally correct construction contributed to the project's budgetary success.

This insurance company sought to rightsize, streamline and improve operational strategies to increase profits.  This firm, through strategic planning with J S D A, adopted a new philosophy of teaming together  departments to increase communication.  The design solution furthered the theme, by selecting a circular form symbolizing a coming together, sharing of information, better communication and performance improvement.

Cost Saving Strategies
for Santa Fe Pacific Pipelines

Santa Fe Pacific Pipelines, Inc. wished to reduce their overall operational costs by relocating from downtown Los Angeles to a suburban location.  J S D A Inc. was selected as the designer to manage the project, and several years of market research and real estate sites were considered through feasibility studies. The project budget was key to its success The project included 68,000 square feet of corporate offices, and a 2,000 square foot data center and conference room.
